Plasma - high performance PPG wing

You are a good pilot and you like to compete. You are looking for a top performing wing that will not kill you, preserving considerable stability and passive safety. You can appreciate reflex-aerofoil characteristics (its speed and tuck-resistance) - so in short, Plasma is a paraglider for you!

A high performance PPG wing, extensively tested for last couple of months, finally has changed its temporary 'DM' name to an official PLASMA.
This paraglider represents a next step in our famous line of reflex-wing series, equipping experienced pilots with yet another craft of cutting-edge performance.
As always, we put a lot of work into its passive security, so that Plasma won't be much different from ReAction in behavior. Despite its higher aspect ratio and shorter brake travel also pilots of advanced free-flying wings won't be much troubled, only people so far flying classic (i.e. non-reflex) PPG wings will have to get used to it.
As mentioned, Plasma is destined for exceptional and demanding pilots, so it will be manufactured in short batches. In this way we will be able to collect and incorporate experiences and suggestions from its users, constantly improving already impressive wing performance. Due to such premises PLASMA will not be certified.

In Plasma we used many novel solutions . All of them contributed to increase in performance and comfort of flying.

ReAction
The professional tool for the demanding pilot

You have already tried paramotoring and you know that it is your game. Casual local flights are not enough for you - you like to see your name on the winner's rostrum :)
You want to explore new horizons, fly over difficult terrain and in varied conditions. You are not afraid of thermal flying, you like flying to the limit (full throttle + full speedbar).
As you are not looking for compromises, you really do need the best wing in the world, the wing used by most of the top-placed pilots...

Then there's not much choice, is there. There's nothing better than the ReAction. This wing will enable you to realize your full potential…

Every result has its cause. For every action, there is a reaction. So our famous Action could only have been followed by our ReAction.

After extensive research in last couple of months our ReAction has been markedly improved, so in order to distinguish it from the original design we have changed both name and logo of the wing to a Reaction TST".
ReAction TST features our Tip Steering Toggles system, designed to facilitate high speed flying.
The risers have been modified too - proven scheme of split A's was introduced, so that smooth inflation can be obtained much easier. Previous (standard) arrangement sometimes caused the wingtips to shoot up earlier than centre on careless spreading the wing before launch. Now the margin for pilot error has been considerably widened.

ReAction is an technically improved and graphically renewed version of Action. It is based on the same proven reflex-wing concept. It features a self-stabilizing wing section that, in the case of a decrease in its angle of attack, automatically responds to compensate. In other words it always stays neutral with regard to its load, so it's tuck-resistant. And as you well know, the funny thing is that the faster you fly, the more comfort you have :)

Over three years of Action manufacture, and after thorough design review and careful analysis of pilots' input, the time has finally come to apply all our new ideas to improve this successful wing.
All the modifications that have been introduced have been thought through and tested in practice, so we are pretty confident they are all positive improvements.

In comparison to its predecessor, the ReAction is a bit faster, inflates easier and features a number of changes that improve wing durability and ease of use. Besides our 'basic' ReAction we have prepared a 'S' version too, equipped with non-sheathed lines in the upper rigging.

Most significant changes are:

  • smoother trailing edge and overall better profile projection
  • risers have new trimmer buckles and exchangeable trimmer tapes
  • risers now have two suspension points to choose from (low and high, depending on pilot's harness/engine setup)
  • the magnetic clips of the brake handles have been improved
  • internal ribs and suspension points have been strengthened, making the wing even more durable
  • the suspension line layout has been modified at the central part of the trailing edge (this change makes the inflation considerably easier, so novice pilots should have fewer problems)
  • in the 'S' version all upper gallery lines are made of non-sheathed Dyneema (overall drag reduction)
  • new set of colour schemes for the wing

The ReAction 'S' is the official wing of the Polish PPG Team.

ReAction has passed the AFNOR Performance certificate.
The 'S' version has passed additional strength tests due to the different kind of lines.

CERTIFICATION

The smallest and biggest ReAction sizes passed the CEN/AFNOR tests, where both qualified as Performance class. The 27 and 29 sizes obtained a double qualification (Standard/Performance).

On ReActions 25 and 31 the test pilots managed to induce the front stall with fully closed trims, something very hard to do in normal state of flight and practically impossible to happen on its own. The forced front stall that occurred was much deeper than in normal aerofoil wings, and because of that it opened longer than three seconds. That was the only reason for the Performance rating - in all other maneuvers our ReAction conformed with the Standard class.
In open trims configuration Performance rating was caused by the B-stall.

We encourage all interested to read the test reports - it is one of the best ways to learn some things that you won't see in the raw technical data.

You are an experienced PPG flyer or you just want to start your motorized career. You are looking for a safe, easy launching wing, yet one that will keep the pace with fastest sport wings, as time to time you want to try yourself. You are mainly after a joy of flight, but once you take part in a competition, you wouldn't like your gear to slow you down. As an open-minded guy you like thermalling and quite often there is speed-system engaged on your flights.
With such a wish-book it will be hard to find anything better than a Synthesis - a wing, that truly merges best features of free-flying and typical PPG wings, including proven reflex profile.

After many successes enjoyed all over the world by our PPG wings - the Action and the ReAction - we challenged ourselves with yet another task: to create a PPG paraglider that will be accessible for pilots of all training stages. We wanted to merge the safety and performance of our existing PPG wings with the ease of classic paragliders' launch. To our delight we succeeded, and so our newest PPG wing - the Synthesis - was born.

Characteristics:
A paraglider featuring proven reflex-wing aerofoil, with impressive maximum speed (61 km/h) and wide trim speed range (37 to 49 km/h). Easy at launch, with great amount of passive safety.

Design:
Synthesis features many innovative ideas, increasing both comfort in flight and the wings performance.

A set of design assistance tools named CSG (Canopy Shape Guard) oversees three crucial factors:

  1. It forms canopy so that when filled with air and under normal aerodynamic forces it becomes a shape as close to the original design as possible. No more irregular shape and bulging cells!
  2. It stabilizes the canopy in flight. Any wing behaving like an accordion is detested by the pilots and suffers fatal losses in performance.
  3. Makes the canopy durable. It is widely known that PPG pilots are keen on overloading their wings, seeking more speed and stability. Initially it works, but soon deformations of excessively loaded fabric occurs. The most dangerous are these visible as lateral folds on wings upper surface, located between suspension line rows.
CSG consists of several subsystems:
  • VS (V-shaped Supports). The diagonal supports bolster the rib on both sides (most of wings have only one-sided supports). Their size and shape ensure upper surface smoothness, exact aerofoil reproduction on entire wing span, better load distribution and possibly small number of suspension points, resulting in laminar airflow.
  • RSS (Reinforcing Strap System). An independent reinforcements net on lower surface, strengthening and stiffening all canopy.
  • OCD (Optimized Crossports Design). The intercellar openings have carefully designed shapes and are optimally placed between stress lines in the ribs, in order to ensure efficient pressure distribution in the canopy and its quick inflation.
  • CCS (Closed Cell Structure). This is a number of closed cells in most important locations. Its goal is to hinder the backflow from the cells out and thus to facilitate their refilling and canopy recovery in case of a collapse.
Canopy Shape Guard effectively stiffens the wing along all its span, practically eliminating any lateral canopy work. Its only flaw are the increases in weight (about 1 kg), material- and labour consumption, and of course in overall costs. Yet it is well worth the sweat, as in turn we get a no-compromise product of highest performance and quality, that above all is able to keep its planned parameters for a long, long time.

In order to facilitate steering the wing while at maximum speed configuration (opened trimmers and full speed-bar) we've invented our own absolutely novel system of controlling the stabilizers. Prior to grabbing miniature TST-handles (Tip Steering Toggles) pilot places the main steering handles in a special Toggle Docking Stations, equipped with strong neodymium magnets. In this way you can comfortably steer the wing via TST handles, not worrying about the brakes getting tangled.

                  (13kB)

(13kB) (13kB)

(17kB)

All handles are equipped with our Easy Keeper system, implementing the strong neodymium magnets as standard.

The ribs include new shape of inter-cell openings, improving internal air distribution inside the wing. The openings are located outside of the most loaded areas.

Target group:
From beginners to advanced pilots, flying paramotors and trikes both for fun and to prove themselves in sport. The wing is suitable for PPG instruction too.

Synthesis Cabrio
An all-round PPG paraglider for trike and tandem flying

You are keen PPG pilot, but since you dislike running at take-off or landing you prefer to fly trikes. Still, time to time you want to share your pleasures with someone else - and as there is little fun in cumbersome powered parachutes, you are ready to put some running exercise into take-off. You have tried both tandem and trike flying with different canopies: some were too difficult at launch, some were flying too slow and some were simply too big. In addition, not a single one gave you feeling of security in turbulences.
So, what you need is a fast and agile paraglider, with possibly easy launch and pleasant handling, equipped with a trimmer set that will present you a broad range of usable speeds. It has to be comfortable and safe in all conditions & speed configurations.

These requirements amount to a sporty flying cabrio. And fortunately we have one for you: it's a Synthesis Cabrio, relatively new paraglider with its reliability already proven with first non-stop flight over Baltic Sea, Poland to Sweden.

Design
Synthesis Cabrio is a reworked, enlarged and tuned to its specific needs version of a standard Synthesis. With the same outline it has four cells more, strengthened construction and accordingly changed rigging. Additional V-shaped mylar reinforcements guarantee exceptional durability and precise reproduction of planned aerofoil.

Intended use
Synthesis Cabrio is designed both for trike and tandem flying, but you have to observe different weight ranges:

  • trikes can be flown in entire weight range,
  • tandem flying (foot launch) should be done only in lower half of the weight range.
Such restriction is caused by relatively high speed at take off when heavy, so that launch can be really difficult in nil-wind conditions. A trike has its wheels, but two heavy persons probably won't be able to take off. Of course with decent wind there shouldn't be problems with foot launch at any weight.

Characteristics
Synthesis Cabrio is an agile wing. Launching is easy, given that proper technique and trim setting is observed. With right configuration pulling A risers can be not necessary during launch (the wing rises on its own), a feature highly valued by trike pilots. Another highlight is Cabrio's wide speed range on trimmers. This is of special importance to trike and tandem pilots, as they have no possibility to operate speedbar.
Everybody will be satisfied with Cabrio's high maximum speed, offering a lot of fun overtaking other pilots and impressive ease of covering long distances.

Reflex profile and carefully designed rigging make for comfortable flight even in hard thermal conditions. And there is a TST system, offering good steering control at high speeds.

Achievements
Even during prototype stage Synthesis Cabrio proved so reliable, that two pilots - Tomek Chudzin~ski and Janusz Adamczak - choose it for their attempt of first paraglider non-stop Baltic crossing. With crosswind they still averaged 63 km/h!
